In this video we will be discussing  HBP #1 : Let labor begin on its own.

A full-term pregnancy is anywhere from 38-42 weeks, so when you are given your due date what you are really given is a due month. First-time mothers are also more likely to go past their due date, but as long as you and baby are both healthy, low-risk mothers should not be recommended for induction until they are a full 42 weeks.

Every day in the last weeks of pregnancy is vital to your baby and your body's preparation for birth. When you wait for labor to begin naturally, your baby and your body are fully prepped for birth. If your midwife or doctor seems to be pushing for induction, and you are unsure if it is medically necessary, ask your provider to go over the risks and benefits with you so that you can make an informed choice.
